The role of the Supervisory Board includes: the addressing of issues from the prior direction of the bank’s activities; election of a Chairman and the members of the Bank Management; convocation of the General Management of Shareholders; and the tackling of other issues not belonging to the role of the General Management of Shareholders.

Mr Orhan Aytemiz
The member of AccessBank's Supervisory Board since its inception (June 2002) and a Chair since September 2011. He had acted as a Director in BSTDB's Project Finance group, based in Thessaloniki, Greece, since January 1999 where he was responsible for corporate finance and equity investments in general industries, transportation, tourism and real estate sectors in the countries of operation of BSTDB. His previous experience included working for the Turkish Development Bank and Turk Eximbank in Turkey. Mr Aytemiz graduated with an MSc in Sociology from Eastern Michigan University and with a BSc in Business Administration from Middle East Technical University. He is Turkish and is fluent in Turkish, English and Greek.
Mr Syed Aftab Ahmed
The member of AccessBank’s Supervisory Board since its inception (June 2002). Mr Ahmed worked with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) from August 1989 until his retirement in December 2006. The last position of Mr. Ahmed at IFC was a Senior Manager position, when he was in charge of implementing IFC’s global Microfinance strategy and investment programs. After his retirement, Mr Ahmed continued to serve on the supervisory boards and investment committees of five other financial institutions and funds in Europe and the Far East. Mr Ahmed holds a Master’s Degree in Economics. He is Pakistani, currently resides in USA, and is fluent in English.
Mr Thomas Engelhardt
The member of AccessBank’s Supervisory Board since September 2006, prior to which he was the General Manager of AccessBank from its inception. He is a Chairman of the Management Board of AccessHolding, and a Managing Director of LFS Financial Systems that he joined in 1996, being responsible for the establishment and organisation of AccessBank. Mr Engelhardt worked on MSME and downscaling projects in Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan and Bosnia and Herzegovina. He graduated from the Free University of Berlin (Freie Universität Berlin) with an MSc in Economics and a BA in Slavic Studies. Mr Engelhardt is German, is fluent in German, English and Russian.
Mr Reiner Müller-Hanke
The member of AccessBank’s Supervisory Board since March 2014. Mr Müller-Hanke has extensive experience in banking in CEE countries for more than ten years. He served as a CEO of KMB Bank, a bank of Intesa Sanpaolo Group in Russia (1999-2009) and as CEO of Swedbank in Ukraine (2009-2013). His previous business experience included also service as a Management Committee Member of the German¬-Russian Chamber for Foreign Trade in Moscow and a Senior Bank Adviser to the International Consulting Company, as well as a Co¬Director of the EBRD Russian Small Business Fund (RSBF) Program and Chief Consulting Coordinator at a number of Russian partner banks. Mr. Müller-Hanke holds a Master’s degree in Economics from Freie Universität Berlin, Universities of Heidelberg and Madrid. He is fluent in German, English, Russian, Spanish and good in Italian.
Ms Eva Witt
The member of AccessBank’s Supervisory Board since September 2011. Joined KfW in 1995 and since July 2010 has been acting as a Director for Eastern Europe, Caucasus and Central Asia with overall responsibility in KfW for five teams focusing on country strategies, financial sector, energy, urban development, and environment and health for the region. Moreover, Ms Witt is a Chair of the Board of Directors of the Caucasus Nature Fund and was a Board Member of AccessHolding. Ms Witt holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from University of Giessen, is German and is fluent in German, English and Spanish.
